All-New 2018 Bentley Continental GT Will Make Its World Debut This Year

In the automotive world, the Bentley GT is old. The car was introduced way back in 2003 and has never changed ever since. It's one of the oldest new cars money can buy today, but that will all change in 2018 when the automaker reveals the brand new 2018 Bentley Continental GT.The new Continental GT will be based on the similar high-tech underpinnings as the new Porsche Panamera, a technological tour de force. With the new MSB platform, it will allow Bentley to create a more advanced and comfortable Continental GT than before. If the Panamera is a guide, it will likely shed weight in a move that will improve the car's dynamic nous.
"So, 2018 will be the year of new Continental GT," Uday Senapati, head of technical operations at Bentley Mulliner, the company's in-house bespoke operation center, said. "It'll be 100 per cent new. New platform, new propulsion systems, new car, pretty much new everything."
Senapati also said that the new visual styling of the 2018 Bentley Continental GT would be progressive take on the outgoing model, rather than a dramatic rethink of the overall design. He confirmed that the design cues would be carried on but in a leaner, more agile information.
The upcoming Continental GT will be powered by a 4.0-liter V8 engine and 6.0-liter W12 turbo petrol engines. This will give the new Conti GT the much power needed as it takes on the road.
In addition, expect the new GT to borrow a few design cues from the recent EXP12 Speed 6e concept seen at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, specifically the headlights. The company will make use of high-strength steel and aluminum which will make the new Continental GT weigh only at 2350 kg.
The all-new 2018 Bentley Continental GT is anticipated to make its world debut this year and will go on sale by the first quarter of 2018. No pricing details announced by the automaker but expect it to be expensive.

2018 Subaru Outback Introduces Enhanced Features and Improved Specs in the 2017 New York Auto Show

Subaru just gave the Legacy sedan a slew of small updates, so it wasn't a stretch to think Legacy's wagon sibling, the Outback, would also get some updates - and it just did. We checked the 2018 Outback out at the 2017 New York International Auto Show.

The 2018 Subaru Outback is back, hopefully with a vengeance, with new styling features and enhancements that will make Subaru fans opt to buy an SUV more. The previous models of Subaru Outback were also at the New York Auto Show some years ago. What does Subaru have in store for the new 2018 Subaru Outback? The new model has lower and wider grille openings and a new bumper. New daytime running LED lights have also been added and a remodeled front cladding provides more protection from road elements like rocks, projectiles and other grit.
The new additions are steering-responsive headlights (SRH) that operate in tandem with the LED lights. Also, reports show that it has good shock calibration and enhanced power. The 2018 Subaru Outback keeps its two opposed engines as well. These are the 2.5L four-cylinder engine (175 horsepower and 174 lb.-ft. of torque) and the 3.6L six-cylinder engine (256 horsepower and 247 lb.-ft. of torque).
These two engines are back but the gearboxes have been changed. The six-speed manual transmission is gone and replaced with an automatic. To make up for the loss, the 2.5L Subaru Outback will have paddle shifters attached to the steering wheel with seven pre-programmed speeds.
The AWD system comes with torque vectoring while the gearbox includes the X-Mode system where you can select your preferred driving style. Likewise, the 2018 Subaru Outback will have new multi-media features, like an 8-inch display screen, Android Auto, Apple Carplay, and Nuance Voice Recognition.
Also for the 2018 Subaru Outback, the rearview camera will have guidelines displayed on its screen to help with vehicle positioning. Ultimately premium materials are used all throughout the interior.
Finally, the new 2018 Subaru Outback has a wheelbase stretched to 117 inches, making it four inches longer than the Ford Explorer. With this new Subaru, a quieter drive is expected with an upgraded chassis and retuned suspension dampers, as well as retuned steering and brake systems.

Audi RS6 vs Nissan GT-R: A Tale of Two Races

The drag race between the Audi RS6 and the Nissan GT-R have an interesting result.
(Photo : Carfection/YouTube)
Pitting an Audi RS6 against a Nissan GT-R might be something not a sane person will do. The result of a station wagon going head-to-head against a high-performance car is pretty much predictable, or is it?Looking at the specs sheet, both pack the same horsepower and has all-wheel drive, according to Road and Track. On the other hand, the Audi RS6 is a family car, while the Nissan GT-R is purposely built to be a high-performance car and its reputation over the years can be summarized in one word, fast.
The team at Carfection put the 2017 RS6 against a 2017 GT-R and performance a couple of races. The results are impressive, and a little cloudy as well.
In a straight line sprint, the RS6 leaves the GT-R in the dust. Another important thing to note here is that the team used a standard RS6 model and not the new RS6 Performance model which packs 600horsepower. This means that Audi's station wagon is relatively underpowered compared to the GT-R which packs 565horsepower.
What is interesting about this story is that in January the fellows from Car Magazine did an almost similar test. This time around they used a standard RS6 with 553-horsepower and a standard pre-facelift Nissan GT-R with 532-horsepower. Surprisingly, the GT-R wins easily.

What these two tests reveal is that the Audi RS6 and the Nissan GT-R are relatively close in terms of performance. Suffice to say, these tests are also inconclusive since there are a handful of factors that might affect each of the car's optimal performance. Factors like ambient temperature, imperfect launch technique, and fuel quality might be too tedious for weekend dragsters, but they somehow affect the overall performance of a car.
